Bushveld Connections has access to numerous wild, semi tame and trained bushveld
animals. These animals vary all the time depending on what is available at the required
time.
A couple of the specialties that can be guaranteed and are worth mentioning are:
- Trained African Elephants: Bushveld Connections is also able to offer access to
fully trained elephants. These animals are totally controllable and will cooperate
100% with film requirements. They are excellent for both still film shoots as well
as, commercials, feature productions and natural history documentaries.
- Variety of Bird Species: Bushveld Connections has access to a number of both habituated
and wild bird species in a number of various locations that are usable for filming
of Natural History documentaries as well as commercials and production features.
- "Jessica" the Hippo: Jessica is a sub-adult hippo who is totally at home with both
visitors and film crews. Jessica can be filmed in both her natural river setting
as well as out the water for tight and stills shots
- Reptiles: Bushveld Connections is privileged to have within its accessibility, a
number of reptile parks within the Lowveld region, thus enabling a wide choice of
available reptiles and wranglers for a variety of needs and situations.
- Additional Options: There is a constant stream of semi-tame animals available within
the region, from squirrels and galago's through to a wide variety of herbivore species,
lions, leopards and hippo's. These animals, although tame, are not trained but will
cooperate with camera requirements to a certain extent.
Specialised Cameras: Bushveld Connections is able to access specialised camera equipment
such as mini-cams that are placed on the back or head of an animal and film via microwave
or cable link giving a "bird's-eye" perspective.
